My role as an Educator is to mentor students and contribute to their intellectual growth, to support their learning of life skills and help them gain new perspectives on topics while re-examining their past ideas of knowledge. My community of learners are those whom require that extra tuition, including those whom have a diverse background. I believe there is a solution to most problems and every brain needs a break! Slow down and focus and you will find the way.

My instructional strategy is designed around the individual student whilst promoting the fundamental concepts whilst teaching critical thinking. At the conclusion of tuition my student assessment will largely depend on the reason for the tuition. The teaching methods and strategies I use to meet objectives will be a combination of leading discussions to promote thought, ping pong questioning, readings and assignments. I balance the needs of the individual with academic learning, life skills and conversation.

My goals for the students are to learn how to learn and see visible thinking take place. I would like to teach students to participate in their life with conversation that is accountable, fostering positive relationships within the community, families and friendships.

You learn when you are not angry, when you are not tired and you can’t learn if you are hungry! Understanding the perspectives of others, developing empathy and feelings as you go will foster good learning. Thoughts and feelings influence actions and choices. If we think first, then act, we learn to make the correct choices. Contentment with the past, happiness in the present and hope for the future. These are strengths and virtues! We have a love for work, courage, integrity, self control and wisdom!

Leaders are able to work through conflict, have connections to others and resist negative pressure!
