Details

Narungga Fishing Charters (NFC) is an Aboriginal owned and operated Family Business based at Port Victoria, on the Traditional Narungga Lands on the shores of the Spencer Gulf, Yorke Peninsula. It employs local Aboriginal people in many roles within the business including skippers, deckhands and tour guides.

All tours take place within Traditional Lands, including the opportunity to visit Wauraltee (Wardang Island) an Indigenous Protected Area. Fishing, diving, camping and site-seeing tours offer a unique insight into the Aboriginal and early European history of the area. NFC also holds a Marine Mammal Interaction Permit issued by The Dept. of Environment, Water & Natural Resources which allows us to operate Sea lion and Dolphin Tours within the Goose Island Marine Park, Sanctuary Zone. All chartered tours can be personalised, and take place on the “Wardang Island Explorer” an 8.5 MARLIN BROADBILL powered by 2 x 200 hp Honda outboard motors and "Capricorn” an 8.53m SHARKCAT with Twin 250 hp Yamaha outboard motors.

The area is also home to the annual Gynburra (Butterfish) spear fishing competition, held in late January of each year. The waters are known for their pristine conditions, with an abundance of King George Whiting and Snapper all year round. There are also 8 shipwrecks in the area dating back to the early 1800s, providing the perfect location for fishing and diving.

- Overnight camping on Wardang Island
- Water sports, kayaking and snorkelling.
- Beach fishing.
- Sunrise or sunset fishing.

Wardang Island has been declared an Indigenous Protected Area. The island now harbours many species of birds, reptiles and plants.

Narungga Fishing Charters also provides safe comfortable and affordable transport to and from Port Victoria. Our mode of Transport is 12 and 24 seat buses. We provide a secure parking facility at Port Victoria for those who provide their own transport.
