• Supplement information we publish on our website
• Remind you of important events, services Council provides, and alert you to late-breaking news
• Provide links to interesting and useful information about the City of Casey
• Better communicate with those using mobile devices.

But we’re also aware of the changing nature of communication on the internet and our use of this channel will be influenced by your participation and response to it.

While the City of Casey endeavours to maintain the currency and accuracy of information published on this Facebook page, the information is subject to change. It is advisable that users ascertain the currency of information immediately prior to use.

Monitoring and moderating posts/comments

Content posted on the City of Casey Facebook page and related pages are monitored and moderated by Council during business hours from Monday to Friday, except public holidays.

We make reasonable efforts to monitor participation to ensure comments posted are courteous and avoid making offensive comments. Please remember that Facebook is a public space on the internet and all interaction is publicly viewable and searchable over time and may be archived outside of Facebook, even if it has been deleted from this account.

The City of Casey reserves the right to delete any comments that are deemed inappropriate. Comments including, but not limited to, the following may be deleted by the moderators:

• Comments that contain abusive, hurtful or inappropriate language or statements (for example, but not limited to, comments that are discriminatory on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, age, or disability, as well as those that contain profanity, are sexually explicit, lewd, provocative, or that describe graphic violence or lawlessness)
• Comments that violate another individual’s privacy
• Comments that breach any copyright laws
• Comments that are considered spam with repeat posts
• Comments that are not suitable to all ages.
• Comments that are overtly political
• Comments that are a direct advertisement for a business or commercial operation

Every four years, Council enters into a Caretaker Period prior to Council elections. During this period, posts which are deemed as ‘electoral matter’ or ‘electioneering’ will be removed from Council’s Facebook page.

Responding to posts/comments

We will endeavour to respond to posts requesting information in a timely manner. Reply posts will only be made by the Council during business hours.

You should contact the City of Casey by telephone, email or letter if you have:
• A formal customer service request, comment or enquiry.
• A response to an item published for public comment.

If you would like to report a post for us to review, send an email to website@casey.vic.gov.au or contact Council's Communications department on 03 9705 5200. Posts that repeatedly disregard any of the guidelines above will be removed and marked as spam.
