Flying is a fascinating and rewarding activity, whether for business, pleasure or eventually for a career.
Learning to fly may be one of the most rewarding experiences you could undertake in your life. Yes, it does involve a lot more than learning to drive, but it does not require any special abilities or education standards; almost anyone can learn to fly. With this in mind the course here has been designed to assist you to obtain your goal in a reasonable time as you work at your own pace.
To fly General Aviation (GA) aircraft by yourself you will require a minimum of a CASA-issued Private Pilot's licence and a CASA approved medical certificate. Ballarat Aero Club uses Cessna 152, Cessna 172, and Piper Warrior aircraft for PPL flight training.
For purely recreational flying in Recreational Aircraft you will require a RA-Aus licence and a current driver's licence. BAC uses a Tecnam Sierra and a Tecnam Bravo for basic RA-Aus training (see section on Club aircraft).
All flying training is supplemented with a series of pre-flight briefings to ensure that you will receive consistent high quality instruction.
Why not give us a call on (03) 5339 1742 and book in for a Trial Instruction Flight. For just $99 your instructor will spend about half an hour explaining how aeroplanes work and how to operate the controls. Then you will be taken on a half hour training flight where you will learn how to operate all the basic controls and fly the aeroplane yourself.
The Trial Instructional Flight (TIF) makes a great Birthday or Christmas present for someone special, and we provide a special Gift Voucher.
