ABOUT SCREEN FUTURES

ATOM & ACMI present an international conference for the education and screen industries: Melbourne 1-3rd July, 2016.

2016 will mark the second international conference run by ATOM and builds on our inaugural event held in 2011. The Summit will be programmed across two venues, ACMI and RMIT, and will be hosted by three major players in screen education, art, film and digital culture:

The Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM)
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI)
RMIT University (RMIT)

The three day Summit for teachers and industry
Screen Futures is an international conference and forum for industry professionals, educators and academics interested in the future of the screen in 2016.

It will be a dynamic three days packed with insightful and provocative discussion around:

Screen Education
Screen Innovation
Screen Industry

The summit program will feature international guest speakers amongst an impressive program of local presenters drawn from:

Screen Production including screenwriting/publishing, film/television, visual effects/animation, web series, game design and photography.
Radio production and sound design
Media and screen culture theory
Broadcasting and digital content distribution
Leaders in screen education software and technology
Curriculum and government agencies
Online journalism and media law

With more than 600 Australian and international delegates expected, the Summit will include forums, a marketplace, one-on-ones, traditional conference elements such as plenaries and breakouts, hypotheticals, screenings, discussions, satellite links and workshops.

The Youth Media Festival:
The Youth Media Festival will be programmed by and for young content makers and students working in film, tv, radio, games and online spheres. It aims to provide participants a forum to share ideas, network as well as gain new skills and knowledge in screen media. The Festival will create an opportunity to crew on a live media event and the Media Careers Expo will open up pathways and career possibilities in a range of media professions.
